What's New...
We’re excited to share these feature enhancements that have been implemented to GW Apps over the past 90 days or so. We hope these updates will bring great value to your usage of our platform.
• MySQL and MSSQL Integration
You can now integrate GW Apps with other databases. Create new records in a MySQL or MSSQL database from your app, either as a workflow action or on a schedule. Automatically write data to an external database for analytics or reporting, hand the baton to another system to complete a business process, or archive data at the end of a process.
• QR Codes in Email & PDF Templates
You can now automatically generate and add QR Codes to Email and PDF templates that can link to an app’s forms, views or pages, or to trigger workflow actions, and even link to external web pages. This is a great option for both internal process optimization and for enhancing employee or customer interactions. For example, you could attach a QR code to a printed job order and the worker could scan the code with their phone once they complete the job to automatically update the job record in the app.
• Google Doc Generation
Similar to the Create Word Doc action, a new Action has been added that allows you to generate Google Docs with form data from predefined templates. Once created, these documents are automatically uploaded to Google Drive for easy access, sharing, and collaboration.
• In-App Navigation Colors and Icons
App Designers now have the ability to change the colors and icons of all app navigation items. This update aims to not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of your apps but also contributes to a more cohesive and engaging user experience.
Other Enhancements
We’ve also implemented several enhancements based on customer requests and feedback. These improvements touch on multiple aspects of GW Apps, enhancing not only the functionality but also the customizability of your applications.
• Math in Table Fields
We’ve unlocked the ability to run formulas and calculate column sum totals on fields contained in your Table Fields. Previously, number and currency fields contained within a Table Field could not have formulas or math applied to them. This update brings toggleable formulas and column sum totals for these field types.
• Rich Text Image Pasting
The Rich Text field functionality has been extended to support image pasting. Now users can paste images directly into Rich Texts fields in addition to formatted text. As an example, this enables users to copy-and-paste entire documents that include images without having to manually upload each image individually. This feature can be toggled on or off in the field properties.
• Sorting Multi Lookup Lists
The list options/referenced form data from a Lookup Fields can now be sorted. After enabling this feature you must choose a field currently visible in the list to sort by. This update aims to improve the both the usability and efficiency of your Lookup Fields.
Coming Soon
We’re also excited to announce some important enhancements coming to GW Apps within the next couple months. We believe these features will bring great value to our customers.
